Wellbeing As A Priority

In our rapidly changing environment, leaders guide teams through changes, through stress, through ambiguity and success… There’s never a moment that allows that leader to go into cruise-control. To be successful as a leader you need to be focused and thinking strategically about every decision you make.

A key factor in being able to do this is your own wellbeing - specifically your ability to cultivate mental calmness even on the roughest of days. Stress generally impacts our ability to think as critically as we may when calm. It may even push us into auto-pilot at times allowing our minds to make decisions based on what we’ve done in similar situations in the past… which may or may not be helpful.

So What Can We Do?

  1. Build yourself a routine: What’s included in your ideal day? How much time is allocated to each activity (family, work, gym, etc.)?

  2. Elevate your self-awareness: What causes you stress? What are your triggers?

  3. How can you build healthy boundaries to minimize triggers and engage in all the areas you’d like to each day?
